About Us

Wyld Meadow Farm is set in beautiful West Dorset, part of Thomas Hardy's Wessex that inspired the great writer and poet.  The area is classified as an AONB ('Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty') and part of the Jurassic Coast UNESCO World Heritage site.

Our family has farmed sheep and beef here using traditional methods for generations.

We take great pride and care in our animals and their welfare is of the utmost importance.  All our animals have full traceability and are reared naturally, grazing on prime Dorset meadowland which supports rare wildflowers and birds.  Twenty different species of butterflies have been found on this sensitive grassland management regime.

You will find our sheep grazing in our solar orchards, home to over 20,000 solar panels generating 4.8 mega watts of electricity - enough to power most of our local town, Lyme Regis.  The parks save over 1700 tonnes of CO2 from being into the atmosphere every year.

Most of our sheep are Poll Dorsets which can breed at any time of the year.  This means that our own fresh Dorset lamb is available through the year.

Here at Wyld Meadow Farm we produce prize winning, high quality, full flavoured lamb and beef which is extremely tender.  All of our lamb and beef is produced in accordance with the Farm Assured British Beef and Lamb Guidelines and we are audited on a regular basis.

Our meat is well hung to enhance its quality and flavour, then profressionally prepared into selected joints and cuts by a master butcher.  It is vacuum packed, labelled and beautifully presented to customer specification.

Meat can be ordered as individual cuts or as whole, half, quarter lambs or mixed beef boxes.  These can be collected from the farm by appointment, delivered locally or sent by mail order anywhere in the UK.  Please see Order for more information.

Mail orders are sent by courier, overnight in conveniently sized chiller boxes, fresh for your oven, fridge or freezer.
